Ernest Edward ‘Rabbity’ Baxter.  Scan Tester had first met Rabbity at The Stone Quarry at Chelwood Gate c.1930 and the pair had played together ever since.  Like many of the older Sussex players, Rabbity was adept at using all parts of the tambourine (drum, rim etc.) when he played.  Two further tracks by Scan and Rabbity, also recorded in the Balcombe Half-Moon, can be heard on the Topic CD Rig-a-Jig-Jig. Dance Music of the South of England (TSCD659).
