The Village Music Project was started with embryonic funding from the University of Salford in Greater Manchester, UK but is now run as an independent project.
The Co-Directors are Johnny Adams and Chris Partington.
There are also an active group of volunteers who undertake abc coding and engage in detective work, uncovering the history of tunes.
