Heptonstall Pace Egg

The Heptonstall Pace Egg is a very popular event which takes place at this West Yorkshire hillside village overlooking the Calder Valley every Good Friday. The play is performed with great vigour by a local drama group and in past times contrasted greatly with the other local play, the Midgley Pace Egg which, being performed by school pupils tended to be 'declaimed' rather than acted.

To the dismay of some people, the Midgley play has been affected by close proximity to the Heptonstall play and now the two are very similar.
