I am 65 and have been singing, collecting and listening to folk music since I was a young lad. I sing at a Folk Session in the Bryn Cynan Inn Nefyn, Gwynedd, every Wednesday evening and with friends as The Rochdale Mashers. I also sing in two choirs and in Welsh as well as English. I love the traditional music of the British Isles and Canada and the USA and singer songwriters such as Ewan Mc Coll, Dougie McClean and Eric Bogle.I come from Manchester where I grew up listening to Ewan McColl, Harry Boardman, and lots of Irish music. My Family were Irish immigrants to England.I now live ina Welsh speaking area of North Wales ewhere there isa strong tradition of sea shanties and songs and lots of harp music.
