Edwin is a musician of varied and possibly dubious background, having grown up in a Morris Dancing family. Steeped in (saturated by?) the traditions of England, he sought other influences, finding inspiration in the music of Scarp and the Continental traditions. A proven funk/soul drummer, he joined Jabadaw in 2006 and Janiveer in 2007 as part of the same lineup. As a box player he plays a Beltuna Sarah 3 and a Castagnari Evo to gain a broad variety of tones and styles, varying from good old RumpityTumpity to gentle French Waltzes. A tune writer (definitely not a composer!), he aims for playable but interesting tradition inspired melodies, with a fair old smattering of whatever chords he can fit.... Fusion is the name of the game, in the band Pilgrims' Way with Tom Kitching and Lucy Wright, Edwin's skills are put to fantastic good use.
