Oral history

In addition to collecting songs and tunes and dances, it's important to know the context in which they have survived and that's where Oral History collecting can have a useful role.

It's important to to get informants to share their memories of the social side of their music or how their working lives were reflected in some of the songs that survive.

In this section we hope to bring together links to contextual material that various individuals and organisations have collected.

We also want to encourage people to further document what they see around them, so that in years to come others can be as interested in us as we are in those who have preceded us.
