Nora Cleary: (1924-1988) Nora's small house at The Hand, some 5 miles from Miltown Malbay, now stands deserted and almost out of sight behind the bushes and undergrowth that have sprung up since her untimely death at 64. Nora’s upbeat personality and love of singing and songs was infectious and she was an ever-popular performer at singing sessions in the area. She had lived and worked in England for some years and, at one time, was friendly with Travelling piper Felix Doran and his family.
