Clarke Lonkhurst, singer, Hamstreet, Kent. Landlord of the Duke's Head at Hamstreet, who also worked as a carrier. He was a keen sportsman - football, cricket, and as a member of the Mid-Kent Stag Hunt.

In the 1901 Census he is listed as Clarke Longhurst; he is listed as age 37, born at Dunkirk near Faversham.

Sang The Nobleman and Thresherman (Roud 19) for Cecil Sharp, 23 Sep 1908. Sharp noted his name as Clarke Lankhurst.
