For instructions on headings and lists etc., look at the MediaWiki Formatting Guide
The very simplest way to edit is to use the tools at the top of the edit window.
These will allow you to display:
Bold Text
Italic Text
[An internal link]
A Header
An image
A media file
A formula
Some other stuff including a horizontal line.
We'll produce some further editing help information as we go.
