Thomas Clark, 1775-1859, shoemaker from Canterbury in Kent, and hymn writer in the West Gallery style. He composed over 900 psalm and hymn tunes and anthems, for Nonconformist and Anglican worship, including Cranbrook, now familiar as the tune for "On Ilkley Moor Bah t‘At".
