Plough Monday
This is the first Monday after Epiphany, the first day of the first week back at work after the Christmas holidays.
Events associated with Plough Monday include:
- Mummers Plays
- Plough Bullocks
On the 1st Saturday after Plough Sunday, (the Sunday preceding Plough Monday), the Goathland Plough Stots have their annual Day of Dance Goathland
Wassailing
Dates vary regionally. Bread or toast is soaked in cider and hung in the apple trees. Guns are then fired into the trees.
