All of his published musical works date from the 1860s and 1870s, and include works on music theory, hymns, and minstrel and other popular music. The content and printing of this collection is consistent with that date, though the work also appeared arranged for piano in the 1920s, and it is sometimes said to be ca 1900 without citing evidence.&lt;br /&gt;
