The recordings on the CD were made between 1952 and 1978, with 6 tracks (15 tunes) taken from 1950s recordings in the BBC archives. Other tracks are taken from live and studio recordings made in the 1970s (including some from the Topic LP [[West Country Melodeon (LP)|West Country Melodeon]], through to 9 tracks recorded by [[John Howson]] two years before Bob's death, aged 74, in 1990. <br />
