	Although the English Folk Dance Society existed from 1911 to 1932, it only published a handful of issues of its journal. Volume 1 (parts 1 and 2, 1914–15) was hit by the First World War, and the second series achieved four annual numbers (1927–32) before the Society amalgamated with the Folk-Song Society to form the [[English Folk Dance and Song Society]]. Nevertheless, in its short existence, it included a number of important pieces on the morris, sword, and country dance, mumming plays, and other matters. The first series was edited by Perceval Lucas, but the editorials in the second series are unsigned. The journal was replaced in 1932 by the Journal of the English Folk Dance and Song Society.
