	Charles Laycock loved [[Devon]] and Devon ways. He lived in Moretonhampstead, on the Eastern edge of Dartmoor. His collection of articles used in old farm houses formed the nucleus for the collection now held by ~~Torquat~~ Natural History Society in a purpose-built gallery in Torquay museum. He collected folk songs in the county and two volumes of these too were left to the Museum when he died. Sadly, one volume has gone missing.
